Before
Where they started
The business was 40 years old and doing about $2-2.2M a year, but it kept running behind. Pricing was complicated for customers, and Jacob’s dad wanted to step back and enjoy the business the way his own father had.
What changed
What they did with Jerry
- 1
One flat price per foot
Quotes went from complicated to one clear price per square foot. “Everything is very clear to the customer, concise.” Closing rates climbed to around 80%.
- 2
Higher margins, smoother operations
With a new perspective on what they did well and what to change, margins went up “tremendously” and day-to-day processes got easier.
- 3
A real succession
Jacob took over more of the day-to-day, and his dad has been able to step back - the goal he came in with.
“We’ve increased our margins tremendously and just everything’s going a lot more smoothly and easier than it was before.”
“It was really helpful to get someone to come in, offer a new perspective and figure out what can we do better, what are we doing good right now.”
Next goal: $4-5 million.
